BABE Cooperative QTease producer

Bay Area Burlesque Entertainment Cooperative

The BABE Cooperative was built by artists, for artists with a focus on supporting, elevating, and engaging all elements and aspects of the burlesque art form. This goal was further informed by the mission to expand diversity in burlesque by sharing access to stages, resources, and funding.

As part of the mission to spread the burlesque gospel far and wide,
BABE Cooperative sees the importance of honoring the striptease fore-bare-ers
of the Golden Age of Burlesque (1930s-1970s)
by supporting our Legends and sharing their stories.

From "The Litter Box with Miss Kitty Oaks"

On March 7th, 2020, we were honored to share the QTease stage with Burlesque Legend Coby Yee. She graced our house with an interview that touched everyone's heart and then she shared more joy with us the next day at our annual Legends Challenge.

In late July 2020, Coby was presented with the 2020 Living Legend of the Year Award at her home in the Bay Area. She was visited by Reigning Queen of Burlesque Frankie Fictitious and Burlesque Hall of Fame Executive Producer Joyce Tang and shared a celebratory dance with her partner, Stephan. However, just less than 24 hours before she was to be honored virtually Coby Yee passed on from this world at the age of 94. We are grateful beyond measure to share Coby's story through this video compliments of videographer Kenny Hoff.
